Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on Earth any time of the year, but each season does have its special charms. The months of March, April, and May are usually considered the “shoulder season” in the Sierras – that time between when the ski season starts winding down, and summer activities ramp up. This is a wonderful time to visit the region because there is still plenty to do and see.
As a Lake Tahoe real estate agency that is both passionate about our home, and eager to share it with visitors, here are a few of our favorite things to do in the shoulder season:
Snow Sports
Our mountain slopes remain covered in snow well into late spring. Whether you prefer skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing, there will be plenty of powder up at high elevations. We are fortunate to have the famous Palisades Tahoe just down the road. The Tahoe X-country Ski Center is also a local favorite.
Lakefront Dining
Since we can’t all possess our very own piece of lakefront paradise, the next best thing is a picnic on one of the local beaches (pick up the perfect snacks at West Shore Market & Deli), or drinks on the deck at a local hotspot, Garwoods or The Bridgetender.
As the weather begins to warm up, finding the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset will make an unforgettable memory.
Local Activities
Water sports start making a comeback in the spring, so definitely take advantage of calm sunny days by renting a kayak. On windy days, if you’re feeling brave, check out parasailing along the North Shore.
